  • People-pleasing is the constant prioritization of others’ needs and opinions over your own, often at the expense of your own well-being. This type of behavior is often closely tied to anxiety, as the fear of disappointing or being rejected by others drives the need to seek approval.

  • While it may not be completely possible to remove the desire to please others, therapy can help you find a healthier balance in your life as you become more assertive in meeting your own needs. Over time, with practice and support, you can learn to set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and cultivate more authentic relationships.
