ONLINE TRAUMA THERAPY ACROSS TEXAS

Renew hope. Reclaim stability. Rebuild trust.

Even getting through the day right now feels like a chore.

You might find yourself interrupted by flashbacks or reminders that make it feel like you’re reliving the past. It’s like you’re always on edge and your nerves are constantly frazzled, leaving you overwhelmed and exhausted by the end of the day. It can be difficult to relax or unwind when you’re always anticipating the next trigger.

Your relationships are feeling it too. Maybe this leads to interactions you aren’t proud of, like snapping at your kids or taking out your frustrations on your partner. This constant state of tension can leave you feeling drained and overwhelmed.

You may find it hard to open up and talk about what you're going through, fearing no one will understand or know how to help. Maybe you’ve reached out for help before, but didn’t feel heard or seen in your struggles. It’s like no matter what you do the storm isn’t passing. You’re just ready to find just a glimmer of hope.

You might be experiencing…

  • Intense feelings of self-blame & shame

  • Feeling fearful, overly stressed, or unsafe

  • Overwhelming guilt

  • Emotional numbness or difficulty feeling anything

  • Disconnected relationships, including with yourself

  • Loss of joy & struggling to find motivation

  • Physical discomfort, like head and body aches

  • Irritability with yourself & others

Your experiences have shaped you, but they don't have to dictate your future.

There really is a light at the end of the tunnel. You're not alone on this journey.

I believe in meeting you wherever you are on this path toward healing. This starts by building a relationship of trust and safety, followed by tools to help you work through some of the emotions and physical symptoms you may be experiencing. As we establish a sense of calm—allowing you to feel safe and secure—we’ll be able to ease our way into the deeper work.

Every step of this process will be at your pace. You don’t ever have to feel rushed or “behind,” because trauma therapy is tailored specifically to you and what you need. Often, I’ll gently challenge you towards processing your past and help you exercise things you’re learning so that you can take care of yourself and ultimately release the weight on your shoulders.

It’s best to view this work like getting into a swimming pool for the first time; we don’t want to jump into the deep end too fast. When we start in the shallow end learning the necessary skills and the tools to swim, we can ease our way toward the deep end with confidence, hope and peace.

EMDR: beyond talk therapy

EMDR therapy can help heal on a deeper level and goes further than traditional talk therapy.

EMDR:

  • works by activating the brain's natural healing process, helping you integrate traumatic memories without reliving the emotions they originally caused

  • can help you process and heal from traumatic experiences by using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation

  • may reduce emotional distress associated with painful memories

  • is often used to treat PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms by targeting the root cause of distress

  • is structured in phases, focusing on past traumatic experiences, current triggers, and building coping skills for the future

  • is based in neuroscience research—the results are long-lasting and applicable to every part of your life

FAQs

  • If you've experienced a traumatic event or are struggling with symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, or difficulty regulating emotions, trauma therapy may be beneficial for you.

  • The timeline can vary depending on individual factors such as the severity of trauma, presence of mental health conditions, and personal goals for therapy. Some might benefit from short-term therapy, while others may require a more extensive period of time.

  • You’re not alone, many people feel this way. It’s common to feel apprehensive about discussing traumatic experiences in therapy. I believe in respecting your pace and readiness. This process is yours and I believe in providing a warm, inviting atmosphere for you to work through what you need to without feeling uncomfortable.

  • EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages you to focus briefly on the traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements or tapping), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the memories. EMDR is an extensively researched, effective modality proven to help relieve trauma and PTSD symptoms.

    • EMDR does not require talking in detail about your traumatic memories or completing homework between sessions. Instead, EMDR focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the memory, allowing the brain to resume its natural healing process.

    • EMDR incorporates bilateral stimulation while you focus on a specific traumatic memory. This stimulation activates both hemispheres of the brain, facilitating the reprocessing of traumatic material in a way that talk therapy alone does not.

    • The goal of EMDR is to desensitize the emotional response to traumatic memories. Rather than just understanding the trauma intellectually, you reprocess the memory, so it no longer elicits intense distress or disrupts daily functioning.

    • EMDR can often lead to faster resolution of trauma compared to traditional talk therapy.
